Biography
Korean cellist Chae won Hong is the 3rd prize winner in 2018 Aram Khachaturian International Competition , earning the privilege of Audience prize and Beethoven Prize which was given by Krzysztof Penderecki , with promising several engagements with Ludwig van Beethoven Easter festival Warsaw, Poland.
Chae won Hong extensively performs with Orchestras throughout Europe, United States in such prominent venues as the Seoul Art Center Grand concert hall in Seoul,IBK chamber hall in South Korea, Rudolfinum in Prague, Czech republic, Carnegie hall (Zankel hall) in New york, Juanita K. Hammons Hall in Missouri, L’eglise Madeline, Politema garibaldi in Sicily,Palermo. As She has appeared as a soloist for new year gala concert at Dvorak hall, Czech Republic, most recently Miss Hong performed under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan at Khachaturian Grand concert hall in Yerevan, Armenia.

Her interest in musical and academical engagement has led her to participate in numbers of music festivals.
She had participated in Great Mountain Festival and Kronberg masterclass in Germany and Seoul,working with legendary mentors, such as Bernard Greenhouse ,Miklos Perenyi, Frans Helmerson , Jens Peter Maintz and Gary Hoffman.
In her collaborative participation, she had collaborated in many Music festivals such as Water Island music festival in St.thomas and Curaçao in Dominican Republic, Gegen den Strom Piano festival in Frankfurt, Bad Ems in Germany,Barbizon, Bordeaux and Gargilesse in France as a guest cellist. She is also regularly invited to appear as a soloist in jeanne d'arc festival in Paris and Orleans as she occasionally performs in Festival international decordes in France.
Most recently, she is invited to Prestigious Music festival “Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival” in Warsaw, Poland.

Chae-won studied at Korea National University of Art with Myung-Hwa Chung, and Kang Ho Lee, at Jacobs school,Indiana University , at Michigan State University with Suren Bagratuni where she has been being the recipient of full scholarship for her entire academic years.
Chae-won has triumphed in multiple national and international competitions winning grand prize at Carnegie hall competition in New York and the MAK Music Competition in Seoul,Korea, Hellam International young artist competition in Missouri.
Besides of her recent musical achievements, she is a laureate of Haydn International Music Competition (grand prize) , Japan-Osaka International Music Competition, the Music Journal Competition, Hanjun Music Competition( former KBS Music competition.), Baroque Chamber Orchestra Music Competition, of the Busan MBC music competition,the Ewha Music Competition as a second prize winner.

미국 Huffington Post 를 통하여 그녀의 카네기홀 데뷔를 알린 서울 태생 첼리스트 홍채원은 예원학교와 서울예술고등학교,한국예술종합 학교를 거쳐 도미하였고, 도미 전 오사카 국제 콩쿨 2위, 부산 MBC 콩쿨 3위 입상과 하이든 국제 콩쿨 1등,첼로 부문 대상을 수상 하였고, 화성시 음악협회 주최 음협콩쿨 현악부문 전체대상을 비롯하여 도미후 Carnegie hall international competition, Missouri Hellam international young artist competition 에서 우승을, 2018년 Aram Khachaturian international competition 에서 3위 입상과 동시에 청중상, 최고 베토벤상을 전설적 작곡가 Krzysztof Penderecki 에게 수여받아 2020년 폴란드 바르샤바 에서 개최되는 Ludwig Van Beethoven Easter Festival 에 연주자로서 초청되었다.
카네기홀의 Zankel hall, 호암아트홀 , 청와대 초청 실내악 연주를 비롯하여 일찍이 예술의 전당 콘서트홀 에서 라이징스타 데뷔 콘서트를 비롯하여 코리안심포니 오케스트라와 바로크챔버 오케스트라 와 협연 하였으며, 체코 프라하의 Dvořák hall (Rudolfinum) 에서 Karlovy vary symphony 와 New year Gala Concert 의 무대로 유럽 무대의 데뷔에 올랐다. 이후 유럽 전역에서 Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, San Remo Symphony Orchestra, Nurnberger Symphoniker,Les Violons de France , Camerata Michigan , Armenian state Symphony Orchestra 와 협주를 하였으며 St.Thomas island Water Music Festival, Gegen den Strom Musik Festival 등 버하마 제도, 독일, 프랑스 해외 각지의 음악제에서 독주자로서 초청 리사이틀을 , 중국 건국 70주년 기념 한.중.일 투어의 첼리스트로서 리사이틀과 실내악 연주로 다방면 에서 활동해 오고 있다.
국내에서는 아트엠 콘서트를 비롯해 호암 아트홀 주최 FM 콘서트, 롯데 콘서트홀 실내악 시리즈, IBK 챔버 홀 에서 듀오 및 실내악으로서 연주해왔으며 한국의 젊은 연주자 로서 이미 동시대 한국의 음악계를 이끄는 연주자들 부터 ARD 우승자인 첼리스트 Sato Haruma 등 세계에서 인정 받는 해외의 연주자들과 호흡을 맞추며 연주자로서 뿐만 아니라 Friends of Music 의 Program Director 로서 기획과 조율을 맡아 다방면 적으로 성장해오고 있다.
Kronberg Festival 과 Rutesheim Cello Festival 에 발탁 되어 참가 한 바 있으며, 전설적인 첼리스트 Bernard Greenhouse , Frans Helmerson 과 함께 Gary Hoffman, Jens Peter Maintz , Claudio Bohorquez 등 현시대를 이끄는 젊은 수장들에게 Masterclass 에서 사사받았다.
한국예술종합학교에서 첼리스트 정명화와 이강호를, 도미이후 Indiana University Jacobs school of Music 에서 Performance Diploma 를 수료하며 Janos Starker의 직계 제자인 Emilio Colon을 사사 하였고 현재 Michigan State university 에서 차이코프스키 콩쿠르의 실버 메달리스트이자 초절기교의 연주로 부산국제음악제를 장식한 Suren Bagratuni 지도아래 Teaching Assistant 로서 Performance Diploma, 석사학위 졸업 및 현 박사학위를 수료중이다.
